Waffle House came with a fairly neglected Danforth style anchor. The chain and the rode thimbles are about as rusted as can be. Additionally, the anchor probably weighs fourteen or more pounds. Much heavier than the eight pound Danforth that served very well on three different windy lakes over the years. So, I've picked up the CD anchor roller and the bow pulpit hanging kit (I had the same set up on my previous boat sans bow roller. Now I'm weighing whether to go with the four or chose the seven pound Fortress anchor.
I sure like the idea of the lighter anchor. A Danforth style anchor is ideal for the bottom conditions of the typical river fed lakes I sail on. Any thoughts? Is anyone using a four pound Fortress on their boat?
