I've got my eye on a Cat27, 1979 so no anchor locker. Current owner has a big plastic bucket in the vberth. Has anyone added one? Did you glass it off or use a wooden bulkhead? How'd you drain it? What was left of the v-berth when you were done? Thanks in advance!

Anchor locker

My c27 fortunately had one,but it doesn't have a drain. Check out the following link, it's a pretty good picture showing how it looks done from the factory. http://member.aol.com/rhdeurer/mod-m10.htm wish I could be more help.

iNTERESTING..why did they stop??

Seems crazy to have stopped installing them... Anyway, thanks for the link, it clarified another link I saw about this.

Aft locker

You're hitting all the bases, Dave. Open the aft locker directly behind the tiller. That is where I store my anchors - easier to access (you don't have to leave the helm). You can throw them overboard and then walk the rode up to the bow. Works for me. Rob

Why stop

I think its when did they start. My Cat 27 hull # 4428 has an anchor locker with drain built in new.
