In our marina in erie bay , i watched an aluminum frame bimini on a catalina 27 collapse and tear thru its sunbrella in a 38 mph storm such as we occasionally get a few times a year. The aluminum frame was unsalvageable. The owner was away that weekend. My stainless steel frame and sunbrella bimini on my nauticat held up just fine.
