Replacement Tank
Hi, I live aboard my C-30 and use my alcohol stove all year long. Here are my two suggestions. 1 make me an offer and I will mail you a used tank. 2. I had the same problem on my boat. I did the following: Because I live aboard I use a lot of alcohol. I wanted a larger tank. So I bought one of those 7 gallon air tanks that you get from sears or walmart. I took the fixture off of my old rusted tank and screwed it into the air tank. Then I bought a male and a female snap connector for an air hose, like the type that a mechanic would use in their shop. (It's times like this that I wish I had a digital camera) I connected the male end to the air tank's new fitting and the female end to my supply hose for the stove. Voila! I fill the tank with five or six gallons of alcohol, pump it up to about 20 psi, invert the tank, click on the supply hose and check on it again in three to four months when its empty. The tatal cost is about $25 - $30. I have two years on the system now without malfunction or leaks. And it has never failed me even at sea.
