Hi all,
I experienced a problem with the gen-set on our boat and it's taken two weeks to figure it out while traveling south. While using power when the 50 amp circuit stopped working and I couldn't find a blown breaker. I went through it several times and asked several other for their thoughts and was finally convinced that it was the main 50 amp breaker since the circuit didn't work with shorepower when we stopped in Atlantic City. Our travel friends found one for us in Cape May, NJ and I was about to swap it out but didn't because of the different arrangement of the mounting screws.

I was really down on the whole travel thing being so taxing and had checked the freezer only to find food thawing inside. We cooked about half of what was left and planned meals around all the leftovers. We were both bummed about these events so I decided to do a good pre-trip maintenance check on the engine to get my mind off the situation.

While crawling around the engine I happened to look at my inverter/charger an saw a button breaker popped out. There are two so I decided "What the heck press the button." I started the gen-set and suprise, EVERYTHING works. Say what you want but why did I notice this button and why now? Maybe it just a test for later. It certantly wasn't from my own smarts.

Taking it slow always works, even if you don't know what you're looking for!

Yesterday, our backup TV system wasn't working. The Cable button on the hh remote stayed lit and we couldn't change channels. Given that it is our son's TV and we were quite busy watching the TV baseball games (Go, A's! and Giants!), it was essential that I get it working. Just before I was ready to call Comcast, after doing the resets and reprogramming, I looked carefully at the handheld. One of the tiniest of the buttons was cocked in and stuck! I jiggled it out, and all was back to normal.

When in doubt, patience it out. :)

Thanks Stu,
We're in the Solomons, Md and Roger is somewhere nearby. Cranking up for the next jump south, hopefully without too many repair issues.

I just talked to Jimm (C30 Valinor). Roger is at the research dock. I think Jim is anchored. They were looking for a place to eat crabs. Jimm: 301-----466-////7465.
