Hello,
Please find photos of a 1977 22' Catalina Sailboat, Hull #7705 in ok to poor condition. I wish to restore. It is a pop top with a galley slide, all foam cushions and sails in good condition. Rigging will need to be replaced it appears.
Issues I have not seen before are: (INSIDE) 1) A "cork" in the cabin floor just before the V-berth entrance in the floor?, I have never seen this on any boat before?, 2) Concern of water found aboard on the port and starboard side areas under the storage areas. Boat has been sitting on trailer now for 2 years. (OUTSIDE) 3) on the cockpit floor and side walls - how does one take off a bad kelvar floor patch combined with patches and splashes of fiberglass resin left all over the floor and sides when installed? and why would one do a patch on a cockpit floor area so large in the first place?, 4) why the hole below the waterline, on the center of the stern, behind the rudder?
Thank you in advance for your advice on what these photos are showing. This forum has been great to learn from. We have a slip which allows up to a 22' sailboat and as I am 6', 1" and its just my wife, Gail Marie and our rescue lab, four year old "Annie" sailing, we have been finding the pop up top model on the Catalina 22' great to find and also like the design overall vs. others so far. Also just talked to Phil, owner of this site and store in Seattle, WA. Very helpful! "Nice to talk Phil and thank you for the warm welcome!"
