My 89 Hunter Legend 37 has the typical Edson pedestal. It also has the weird Hunter pedestal guard wher the 'legs' curve back to the pedestal and are screwed to the tube of the pedestal.
Those screw holes in the pedestal are stripped out.
Has anyone figured out a way to repair and retap those existing holes?
(I prolly could move the bottom legs down and redrill ...)
Or do you reaplce it all with a new guard wil long straight legs that go to the deck? Those then have to have feet drilled and screwed/thru bolted to / thru the deck. I don;t like making holes where water can get in. And the hull liner under the deck kind of makes thru bolting a pain/ugly/problem.
Who's done this?
Advice?
thanks
