For comparison to your quotes on Mariners, East Coast prices are generally $3K or less. So maybe double for being in Puerto Rico? I agree $10K seems very high to me. Unless it was perfect, and I could get it for $8K, I think I would walk away.
I paid stupid money for my Mariner during Covid because I wanted a newer boat with the composite centerboard instead of the cast iron. And the one I got for $6800 in early 2022 had a new 2019 galvanized trailer fitted by factory. The boat had been rebuilt in 2019 by the factory, too, with new sails, standing rigging, Ruddercraft rudder, complete new cushion set, repainted interior.
