Ref. 1986 My Pearson 303
My AC panel for shore power has a red led light to indicate when there is reverse polority. Should the led light up when shore power is connected and before the main AC breaker is turned on or after the main AC circuit breaker is turned on?

They are generally wired thru the breaker, and will only work when the AC breaker is ON.

If I take the question literally, the red light should never be on. If it is, you have a problem between the N and Grd.

Red light should not go on regardless... if it does you have a problem. Yellow light will not come on till you turn the breaker on with shore power connected.
