Nice to know there are still some good people out there doing business, who take the customer into consideration. I ordered a pedestal base plate from Sailors Exchange a while back. Was told on the phone I could return it if it didn't work. Well, the pulleys were wrong and it just would not work. Called Sailors Exchange, was told to send it back, not a problem. Not only did they make the refund very promptly, but they also refunded the shipping charges. Also managed to loose the little ball joint that goes on the quadrant to attach the rudder sensor. Called WM to see if they might have one. No deal. Called Raymarine parts to order one. No part number, no order. All my info on the auto pilot just calls it a tiller pin. That ain't good enough to order by. Called Raymarine tech support. Guy there knew exactly what I wanted, said he had one in his desk drawer. Got it three days later, without even paying any shipping. I consider both of these actions above and beyond what I expected, and want to give them a thumbs up for their service.

How is Candida now that she's back in the water, Phil?? Figured you'd be heading east on the westerlies that we had late last week!

Back in the water

Claude,
A great improvement in the boat. Apparently the sagging motor mount caused some mis alignment of the shaft. Boat is much smoother than it was. I guess it came on so slow that I hadn't even been aware. Rudder is as good as it ever was. No problems. Went over to Biloxi last weekend for a shakedown. Think I'm gonna wait at least till it cools off some before I venture very far from home. Just too stinkin hot, and the day before Bonnie was supposed to hit, I overdid it a little, determined to be able to splash on that Sat. if needed. Was feeling pretty puny for a few days.
