Hi everyone, I bought a Mac26D earlier this year and the boat and trailer were in such good condition, i just couldn't resist the deal. To say we are happy with our set up would be an understatement. We are ecstatic. The elderly gent we bought our boat from knew a few things about how to set up a boat. If you look at the photo of the trailer, it is the original trailer, and all he has done is add brackets and rollers that are at exactly the same level as the flat carpeted supports. To launch, i merely bak it till the water cobvers the bottom of the rims, and that's it no further, she just rolls off beautifully without having to even give it a big shove, it just slides gently into teh water, and for retrieval, i do exactly the same, and it winches on so easily. There is no sign of rust anywhere on the trailer. A real simple solution. I hope this may help some o0f you who have had problems with rust and had to replace yopur trailers. regards Paul Sitcheff from Oz.

looks nice

but coming from an engineering background, I'm concerned about spreading the load out more. The bunks have more contact area, rollers focus the bearing weight on smaller areas. Might be a problem on long hauls. Any signs of unusual wear?

Can you post pic's of the boat too?

Tell us all about it. Any interesting mods?

Bunk with liquid soap and blow out the bilge

I stayed with bunks and use lots of liquid soap. Plus blow out the bilge with a Coleman air-matress inflator before haul out. Much less maintenance and spread the load over larger areas. Watch out for sign of stress where the roller contact the hull. Mac's hull is not very thick and not many stringers inside. Enjoy

that's better

you do have the bunks to carry the loads. Nice setup :)
