A few questions...for now

I just purchased a 1976 O'day 25 and have a question or two: First, I noted a 1/8" cable that parallels the back stay. Any idea what that might be for? Second, with an inboard disconnected, how easy should the prop shaft turn? and finally...for now, there appears to be tracks on the cockpit combings. Are these Genoa tracks? Congrats on the new to you boat. The cable you speak of sounds like the topping lift, holds up the boom. I think the prop should spin fairly easy, but I really am not experienced since I have an outboard. The tracks I have in the same place are used for my genoa sheets and assym spinnaker.

A picture of the tracks would help distinguish them between spinnaker tracks or Bimini tracks. Sheet tracks are usually hefty: 1"

Yes, those are tracks for the spinnaker as my 25 has them too..... Could possibly use them for a big genny like a 150...
