My 71 P30 rudder/tiller assembly feels loose. I am assuming it is the bushings. Has anyone replaced them before and if so, have you done it without pulling her out? Secondly, I have a roller boom and the sail design is a bit interesting. Two crinkles at the clew on the main sail. I can only assume that the upper (which is about 10 inches higher on the sail) relates to a Cunningham assembly. The boat was poorly rigged when I got her, so I am having to kinda figure it out as I go.

Go to Pearson info web site at:

www.pearsoninfo.net

click on your model.

Based on what I see, you can not replace the bearings while in the water. The bearings are avaliable at D & R Marine. Pearsoninfo has their phone number.

Ive got a pearson 26W which has the same rudder as a pearson 30 Last season my rudder was loose after hauling. I had the rudder taken down and
inspected it needed new bearings as well a fiberglass wrap around the post to get it to fit snugly. The rudder weights 85 LBS. If your boat is on stands your
going to have to dig a pit under the rudder to get the post out of the tube
