Who owns Capri 6162 --- It is on the main page for this site. I did not know that many Capris were made.

It's waayyy too big to be a Class number.

They were only up to 1258 in Jan 2012, and that picture has been on the home page for many years.

I "kinda remember" a question on the old board about whose boat it was, but I do not remember the answer. Maybe someone with a better memory (or even first-hand knowledge) will be along in a while to clue us in again.

Still sailing here on the Lower Chesapeake Bay - today is a lovely 80 degrees, with a cold front passing later today and 70 degrees for the weekend.

Was beautiful her in NY today also. 75 ?. Too bad my boat is out of the water, on it's trailer.

This weekend we start to button up the club. Take docks out, moorings out, boats out. Commodores Cocktail Party!

Worked on my outboard this afternoon. The last few weeks it started being difficult to start and a little fuel seemed to be leaking out from under the cowling. I got lucky, The motor has a carburetor "primer" and I found the primer line had developed a leak. ( motor is a 1987 2 cylinder, 2 stroke Evinrude Sailmaster). Replaced the gas line and --- wa la, she starts on first pull again.

Will tow my boat home from the club this weekend -- 8 miles.

It was beautiful at the mouth of the Delaware yesterday 10/20/13. The winds though were right down the river so we had a two foot chop with the bow nearly going under at times. Water on the fordeck and running back most of the 3 hours. Just a few 16mph gusts with most staying at 12 to 14. The Mrs. had the helm and did quite well. We started with a double reef and changed to a single while out there and of course that is just when we got the 16's. Although, I had to tell the Mrs. not to mess with the main sheet as I, standing in the cabin, wedged myself under the boom to uncleat the luff reef line.

I forgot how this is good exercise! It was chilly but I was always doing something and was quite warm.

As some of you might be thinking, I asked the Mrs. the same question, "please tell me, if you enjoy this Why Are We Selling This boat?" Her answer, "if it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell" - I'm changing the price to $28000. :lol:

We had our second to last race this past Sunday Oct 20. Winds were 18 with gusts to 25. A cool sunny 68 degrees. We actually had 3 of our Capri 22s in the race. The 4th Capri couldn't make it. What an exciting race, very competitive all the way through the two races.
Our club is on Eldorado Lake in Kansas. If you're ever in the area check us out.

Sail Number "6162" would be issued as part of the North American US Sailing Numbering System for Offshore Boats.
Numbers "6000-6999" are assigned to LMYA (Lake Michigan Yachting Association) and SCYA (Southern California Yachting Association).

This owner was probably a serious racer.
