You mind describing how you are doing the reinforcement?mines sitting right next to me... Harkin. I'm reinforcing the sea hood that the traveler attaches to. I read that some people have problems with this, so last summer while in nice winds I watched and sure enough... the hood flexes under stress.
Debgen, you might also want to take your end caps off your traveler and check underneath where they are through- bolted. My port traveler end had only one bolt and did not have a backing plate. The area is small underneath the deck and I used fender washers and retapped the second through bolt. I did the same to starboard. I bought the proper slides for the inside of the traveler from Harken. Good luck and good sailing, RonHi,
I recently purchased an 36-2 and the car assembly on the mainsheet traveler is missing. Anyone know the manufacturer.
Do you have any pics of the reinforcement work?First off, the aft most bolt holes on the port and starboard sides of the sea hood were cracked and breaking from the stress. I had this area "beefed up" on the top of the seahood. Underneath, I am having additional fiber glass added on the width where the traveler sits. Having it done as we speak.
007, I can provide you with extensive info. Better to send a private message and not use the forum space for these communications. Best, RonDo you have any pics of the reinforcement work?
