OK. After some discussion with friends we've decided to omit the the block on the boom closest to the gooseneck as it does not offer much purchase if any. The main sheet will run through the three purchase blocks, directly to the deck block, to the deck organiser and back to the cockpit. So now the question is the new shear load on the deck block. Any thoughts?
