Thanks to both the repliesI have a 2006 Hunter 31, I recently installed a refrigeration unit in mine. I used the same model as was factory installed. I worked with Greg from Hunter marine during one of my visit's to the factory, OK, I only went once. How large is the current opening in the counter top? I am currently away from MY computer, but if you can get me an email I will get a copy of what I had to do. This is for a top loading refrigeration unti.

Mine came with an icebox conversion installed, with the compressor being located under the sink. The problem is, being enclosed in a small space like that, the unit receives no ventilation and gets too hot. I ended up installing a couple of louver vents, as well as a fan to draw fresh air into the cabinet.Yes it is a top loading chest type icebox, I am not concerned about the plate I am interested in where the compressor unit is normally placed. I have seen one article where the owner placed it on the shelf in the aft cabin, I really don't want to do that. In my last boat it was under the sink but I have also heard of it being placed in the starboard lazerette. Wanted to know where the factory puts them.
