After many years of production, Catalina still states in all their manuals that the C27 has a draft of 4ft. Any surveyor that has taken the time to do the actual measuring, and not accept what the book says, will tell you that the draft is 4ft 6in. It seems as if Catalina has a unique measuring system.
The specs used to state that the wing keel on the 310 give the boat a 4' draft. Truth is, the draw is 4' 10". So, I'd take their measurements with more than a grain of salt!Great boat, though.
I have hull # 118 produced in January 2001. I have seen printed specs from Catalina listing the draft at 4 ft, 4 ft 10 in and 4 ft 3 in. I should have measured before the boat went into the water in April but didn't. I did call the factory in Largo and asked what draft # 118 had and was told 4 ft 3 in. I will measure this winter when I pull the boat. I also am unsure of tankage capacities for water, fuel and waste. I have seen different capacities printed for each of these values as well. We love the boat!
Hello Can,I measured the draft on my boat on land. From the bottom of the bootstripe to the bottom of the keel it was 80 inches (2.03 meter's)It floats about four inches higher (lightly loaded) for an "in water" draft of 1.93 meter's.This is considerably more than the 5' 9" advertised.
