Well Soling42 skippering a yacht of that size, value and so forth has a lot of pressure let alone the management of the crew. You have to be the weather forecaster, psychologist, mediator, navigator, chef, repair master, manager, surgeon. The list is endless.
Of course sailing the Caribbean with the trade winds in your hair is lovely. Sailing the Southern Ocean up in the 50's and 60's is tough going. Dodging icebergs and negotiating Cabo De Hornus is not easy let alone the challenges of keeping a crew motivated, positive and "in order" when in foreign countries. Oh and the customs entries and clearances. You do it all when you are the skipper of a yacht like this.
Give me my little 260 anytime. Three sheets and two halyards. Nothing else to worry about and home every night to a warm bed and a lovely meal!!
