So keeping our 1979 Cherubini in East Hampton this summer and the sun has been strong. I researched Bimini tops and way to expensive for this boat and then boom tents. I found a great site online asking $150 for boom tents but there is a 5-10 day lead time.
Well I found a cheap solution!
First: Painters tarp (canvas from Home depot) http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-5-3-4-ft-x-8-3-4-ft-Canvas-Drop-Cloth-69CV8/202029402
Second: Clips like a long key ring that I threaded onto the seamed edges
Third: String but more on the rope side
Fourth: Throw over boom and tie to toe rail
Done. Shade and comfort.
