Do you have plans for how to build one of these. I would love to build one for myself. Would gladly pay for those plans too. Thanks, I had to build this one myself.
My plans are sitting right in the back yard on the trailer. I searched all over the web looking for some kind of a model C-22 and what I found didn't really add up to what I wanted. So I went out in the back yard, measured my boat and just started replicating it on a 1" to 1' scale in poplar wood. I posted a slide show of the process on my YouTube channel "SailinSlim" if it helps you.Do you have plans for how to build one of these. I would love to build one for myself. Sweet! That's where you hide the bourbon, right??Thank you Gene, of course you may....That way we'll go to the woodshed together for hijacking this thread...![]()
Blame me for the highjack. That is very impressive @ShotgunSlim. I'm not sure if I would have the patience to make such a work of art. Maybe someday. Thank you Daydreamer. I've been playing around in my shop for years building furniture and stuff. I toured the Catalina factory in Largo, Florida a couple of years ago and was really impressed with the display models they had in the factory office but of course, I noticed there was no C-22 there so I started looking around for models and there was literally nothing I could find. I work a lot of boring night shifts and I kept thinking of things around the shop and at work that I could make realistic boat parts out of and one thing led to another until I had a pretty realistic scale model.Blame me for the highjack. This year included the first of the two best days of boat ownership.
Just out from Yankeetown to Cedar Key and back. It's only about 20 miles as the crow flies, but there's an hour and a half motoring out the (very scenic) Withlacoochee river from our launch to where the "deep" water is, and you have to do a bit of meandering to get into the anchorage at Cedar Key, too. There's plenty of water in there, but plenty of oyster bars as well.Nice Gene, where were you sailing when the video was taken?
