Sorry to hijack this thread, but do any of you know a Marlow 31 owner? We’re very close to closing on a beautiful, like-new, 2018 31’ and I haven’t had any success finding other M-31 owners to get information/advice from. After reading this thread, I'm wondering to what extent some of the same issues might pertain to the 31s. It has a 3YM30AE with the SD25 saildrive. I have checked the fixed port windows for leaks, crazing/cracks around the winches--no evidence of any problems there. The saildrive checked out OK with the surveyor.

If anyone knows an M-31 owner, could you give them my contact information? I would appreciate it.

Agreed. You probably already checked but there's no owner postings in the Resources part of the website for MH31. Looks like a nice boat from the MH website. Let us know what you do!

Does anyone know the LOA with the swim platform closed? I saw a spec at 41.25’ but wonder if that is with the platform extended. I have a 40’ but the marina is strict about not allowing an overhang.

My marina takes the length of everything into account when determining the length of a slip for a boat. That not only includes the overall length of the boat itself but other things that overhang fore and aft like anchor and bowsprit on the bow, dinghy, dinghy davits, barbeque, flag staff, etc. So what I am saying is, it will be the marina and their measuring device that will determine the length of a boat not a Marlow Hunter spec sheet that gives a number for the length overall. It is my experience that the 41.25' length that is given in the manufacturers spec sheet would not include the deployed swim platform nor would it typically include the anchor but would include the anchor roller. My 2012 33e is speced at 33' 6"/33.5'. However, a Manson Supreme 15kg anchor adds an additional 1 foot. Round that up to the nearest foot, I just fit in to my 35' slip. Heaven's forbid that the marina manager walks by and I happened to have the swim platform down. I would expect an additional 1.5" moorage added to my marina fees.

Hello all, forgive me for sticking my nose in here but I find myself at the beginning of a journey that involves a 2016 MH37 that has been badly neglected. I have just begun cleaning her up and making my list of repairs and replacements. She is structurally sound (according to a detailed inspection and a survey) and her engine seems to be in good shape but she wants a lots of cosmetic attention as well as some of the systems. I am poking around the internet looking for other MH37 owners but I think I can learn a lot from all of you that would apply to my 37. At the very top of my list of needed repairs (actually the direct cause of most of the needed repairs) is significant and persistent leaking from the large salon port lights. The leaking was inadequately addressed over the years with various chalking and sealants but the leaking continues ( although apparently reduced). This leaking has caused all sorts of havoc with the interior wood work (lower on my list of repairs but likely the most costly) as well as the cushions And some of the electrical. I have started researching this apparently common issue and am resolved to completely removing the glass (plastic) panes, stripping the old sealant and re-bedding all of them. Any advice, tips or stories would be more than welcome. I have a million questions for you all but, until I get these leaks stopped, nothing else really matters. Thank you in advance for you wisdom, experience and advice. Also if you know of any other specific forums I should search please share them.
