2 Jib Halyard Questions

I have wire to rope halyards and thimble for both. What are the instructions on how to put the thimble onto the wire? It seems simple, but I want to make sure it is safe.

Where does the jib halyard attach when the jib is stowed away? I do not have roller furling.

Thanks,
Chris

No help on thimbles.

When I'm in the slip, I attach my jib halyards to the lifeline stanchions to avoid the mast slapping. I've got a ring at the base of my mast to clip the halyards to for sailing. So yes, I do move them to go out and put them back on the lifeline stanchions when I return.

If you have a thimble it gets the wire wraped around it and then the cable is swagged with the proper swaging tool. Usually wire to rope halyards are done with a rope to wire splice though so it can fit through the sheave..
