Has anyone gone though what I am going though right now? I found two very clean boats, one a Hunter and the other the Catliana. They have about the same equipment, other then the Catalina comes with a microwave, propane stove & three blade prop. The specs. on the two boats are different, but I really don't know which way to go. The Catalina is about $4000.00 more then the Hunter, is it worth it? Thanks for comments.

Tough choice

I recommend checking out the papers & brokerage listings to see if that difference in price is standard for your area. If it doesn't appear to be, then maybe the Hunter is the way to go OR you could offer a more reasonable price for the Catalina. It's really how you feel inside. Which makes your heart sing the second you see her? Go for that one. LaDonna

BUY THE CATALINA. DON'T BUY THE HUNTER. The Catalina is a hands-down better boat: better quality overall and sails better. Out here on the "left coast" Hunter's have a reputation for being pretty, but they also break frequently. Believe me, you will not regret getting the Catalina.

Catalina vs. Hunter

Since you are on Lake Michigan, take the Catalina. When the wind and waves kick up you will be glad to have the extra weight. I have owned both, curently a Catalina 310, and will never own another Hunter. Overall construction is better on the Catalina.
