1987 interior lights

I have a 1987 272LE and want to replace the lighting in the cabin with LED bulbs. I'm having trouble removing the outer ring to get to the bulb. I don't want to damage the outer ring and I don't see anything on the side to release the ring.

I am not sure if the O322 uses the same light fixtures as the 272...but on my 322, there are a couple of small screws in the ring (outside edge if I remember correctly).

Do you have a picture of the fixture?

I went the the cheap way. I removed the light fixture, then bought a big roll of LED lights from amazon. Cut into small strips and soldiered them to a wire and then soldiered them to the connections on the back of the fixture.
