Sorry - it's not a through hull. The transducer is IN the hull - a datamarine SX-120. My current displays in the cockpit are so hard to read, I'm just looking to replace them with something more current and more easily read, especially in sunlight. When looking at DMI marine - (I believe they bought out Datamarine sometime in the 1990's) they have a Phoenix depth and speed. However they're pretty expensive. When looking closer at the connection, it doesn't look like it would be a match. Mine look like almost a coax type connection. Just wondering what some of you may have done (or would do) in my situation is all. I'm not opposed to the idea of ripping out the old transducer and replacing it with an old one either. And if that's the case.. what is involved with removing it. Because if I WERE to go the more expensive route and get say a Garmin 12" Chartplotter, I'm sure I'd have to get the matching NMEA transducer. Thanks for your thoughts.
