1974 Pearson 26 P-O-S refurb??

Hi,

I'm new to the list and to sailing. I built a 16' trailer sailer and had it long enough to be bitten by the sailing bug before I lost it to an engineering defect that is better left to another post.

Can anyone out there offer me any information on this boat??
Is it a good boat for a beginner?

Also does anyone out there have one??
I'm looking for pictures of the cabin. This thing is completely gutted and I really can't tell what it should look like..

Very helpful.
I have just discovered that my POS is a bigger POS than I new.
It doesn't have a rudder, I have come to understand that this isn't uncommon on this boat but it is a very expensive problem....
Has anyone out there made a rudder for a boat of this size????
My thought was I could make one and hang it off the transom like a smaller boat, just enough to play with...

Any thoughts from you experienced seamen????????????
