Trailer goes almost all the way to the transom. No need to put support, such as jack stands under the rear of the trailer while not hitched to the tow vehicle.

The dual axles and disc brakes provide for great handling on the road. My old trailer did not even have brakes. It's a thrill now to go down the road with my boat in tow.

The end result was not really as good as a new trailer, but close. I figure I saved about $3000 over new. I was told by a representantive from Pacific Trailer, that a new trailer like that would cost about $6500. I invested about $3000 total and a lot of labor on my part.

One thing that attracted me to this trailer is the fact it's all bolted together, which means I can adjust it to the configuration I need. No cutting or welding required.

I provided the boat with more support than it originally had with the factory trailer. I built four vee bunks. The Mac 26S requires vee bunks to give it the correct support, so as not to damage the hull. The two center bunks are placed in the same relative position to the boat as the OEM trailer.

I took the whole thing apart, refinished it with cold galvanizing compound to give it a fresh look, and rebuilt it with all new parts, using either galvanized or stainless steel parts, SS disc brakes, and LED lites. Should last another 20 years. The axle under-carriage is separate, and just attaches to the A-frame with eight U-bolts. This makes it easy to adjust tongue weight.
