Radiance's portable helm seat sits snugly at the stern on and between the two cockpit seats. It allows the pilot to sit almost as high as when standing, with a good view over the cockpit. This is a nice piece of custom woodworking apparently added by a previous owner, as a friend's 272LE doesn't have one of these. It includes storage space below the padded, curved seat that can be used for binoculars, VHF handheld, sunscreen, charts, etc., to keep them within easy reach. The seat just lifts off and can be stored below. It also came with a canvas cover. A previous owner also made other custom woodwork additions and modifications in the cabin.

Radiance stern seats apparently were a custom addition to this boat, as I have seen other 272LE's without them. The teak boards have two clamps beneath holding bolting them to the rail, and an extra 22" long, 1" diameter stainless steel stanchion adding support to the rear of each seat.
