Attached is our 12X24 Cockpit Table on our Seaward 23. I made it from solid Teak and is supported by a 1/4 SS rod and other over the counter SS hardware. The table is firmly mounted to the pedestal tubes using Teak mounting pieces on 9.500" centers and folds down via a SS piano hinge. As you can see, the table as a 6" Mahogany/Teak "Compass Rose Inlay" installed in it. This was the most challenging aspect of the project, but was well worth the extra time/effort! We recently added the Edson's remote mount, which will let us remove the wheel, thereby creating more room in the cockpit while at the dock or anchor.

Nice work!

How did you do the inlay?
I found a woodworker with a CNC machine (Computer operated router) so I farmed that portion of the job out. There was no way that I could do it, with the power/hand tools I have and maintain the quality I wanted. Normally, inlay work like this, is only found on very expensive boats. There are several companies that can make cockpit tables with Inlays, but it going to cost you! I tell my wife that I have Champagne Tastes, but I am on a Beer Budget. By making my own table I was able to have my cake and eat it too. I've been asked by several people to make one for them, I just might do it. Pat 513 891 5112
