Need Stand Up Swivel Block for Oday 25

Had a good sail Friday night but found the plastic sheeve in the stand up swivel block for the port jib sheet on my Oday 25 is shot.
Didn't see one on the DRMarine website.
Any suggestions for a replacement block? Hoping to avoid drilling new holes if possible.

You may be able to just change the sheave pulley without having to change the whole thing. The axle is probably pressed in. You'd need to drill it out in order to remove the pulley. Match up the pulley and Mickey Mouse some kind of an axle for it out of a smooth stainless steel bolt.
I have one on my boat that slides in a track that needs a new pulley. I may need to do the same thing to it.

Fixing old blocks is not that difficult.

First use stainless steel bits for the
drill out. These can be had from specialty
tool stores or some full line hardware stores.
Yes there is difference specifically in angle
of point.

Second drill out all holes to SAE 1/4 " or to
fit #10 bolts. Then obtain what I have always
call axle bolt that will be pivot for new sheave.
Hardware newbies and industrial screw places
call axle bolts - 'shoulder bolts'. Use a stainless
steel 1/4 or #10 whichever works for your
block and you can get.

In getting the correct width for your block
you may have to get a bolt with slightly wider
shoulder to act as the axle for the sheave.
In that case you also need a die to run down
the screw to make sufficient threads to correctly
tighten. After all is rebuilt, cut excess thread
from nut end of bolt so as to make new block
and sheave not have sharp screw sticking out.

You may want a cap nut with rounded edge to
ensure smooth pieces.

If you want to make it work better, find
copper tubing that has inside diameter the
thickness of your axle part. Drill new sheave
out to accommodate copper tube over axle
for bearing. Some hardware stores will have
assortment of such tubing or a hobby shop will.

I routinely rebuild blocks on by ancient boats
because of difficulty in finding exact replacements.
Also, once you have done one it is easy and
less expensive. And they work!

It's probably made by Schaeffer. That company is located not too far from where I live. One of my friends works there.

Good ideas! The block looks like what Schaffer lists on-line but not the base. Defender has Schaffer replacement sheaves.
Should be back down to the boat next weekend. I'll pull the block to bring home to drill and install new sheave. Wonder if I can pull the block off of the base and replace it with one of the blocks from the Genoa track? Then I can save the repair for winter projects.

Here is a photo of the block on the genoa track which looks the same as the jib sheet block except it is on a car instead of base.

Yup. That's very similar to what is on my boat. Sometimes the sheaves have a larger hole in the pulley than needed. For instance, I replaced the sheave pulley on my mast head for my Main Halyard. The hole size was 1/2". All I needed was a stainless steel bushing that would fit in the hole and of course the inside diameter of the bushing being narrower allowed me to use a narrower diameter bolt. I was able to buy these bushings or ferules off Rudy where I bought the sheave.
All I had to do was cut the bushing to fit in the mast head.
In fact, I took my mast head off the mast and brought it to Rudy and we were able to match up a sheave to fit.
I'm sure that these stainless steel bushings can be bought at WM or any ship's store.

Can you identify the brand? If so, google the company, and call them with a description or model number and explain the situationl. They can tell you if a replacement part / sheeve for that model is still available.

Yep, Rudy has the Garhauer stand up blocks. Not a direct replacement but they are good quality and what he recommends. Rudy told me the originals are Schaffer but no longer available.
I ordered two of the Garhauer blocks as well as some other blocks for for some other little projects. When I run my halyards from the mast base to the cockpit I plan on using Garhauer blocks and line clutches.
Got some other Oday stuff from Rudy as well.
