i can assure you .....you are not alone here my friend....all through the day i am reminded of things way back when.....and when i mention it to most under 50 they are amazed that i can remember that far back....and i in turn am amazed they they cant .......The classic that comes to mind (excuse me for showing my age) was Andy Griffith's "What it was was football" It was part of his standup act and the feature cut on a very popular comedy album.... which essentially got him the TV gig.

CBS golf announcer, David Faraday, comes close.... today he said the wind was blowing so hard the golfer was in danger of being injured by his PANTS!That made me laugh, and I think it brought out my inner Irish. Would love to see more sports announced like that.
