1987 31 foot pearson. Deck to hull joint under the gunnel has/had a flexible plastic cover that hid the nuts and bolts for fastening the deck to the hull. Is there any source for this product? I have noticed other pearsons of this vintage with the same problem, pieces missing, cracked, etc

I replace my entire rub rail... D & R (Ruddy) had original. I left that peice off as I felt not too many people would be looking from that vantage point. But if in need I would call Ruddy at D & R.

Are you talking about the rub rail? Semi-flexible, U-shaped plastic material that encloses the hull/deck joint all around the circumference of the boat?

Sounds like the rub rail and indeed, Rudy at D&R may have a replacement. Check the post pinned at the top "Pearson-specific parts source" for information on how to contact Rudy.

Again, I would call Rudy at D & R and ask him. I know it was available when I replaced my rub rail 6 years ago, however I opted not to get it.
