Dingy facelift update

Hi All,
I started to give my dingy a facelift two weeks ago and have a picture of how we're going to use it this summer. I had a problem was with the rubber coating sticking fast to the tubes. I emailed Inland Marine who advised stripping it again and wiping with toululene before applying the rubber coat. The manufacturer may have used a silicone based product on it to make it shine. We'll do the strip next year. BTW they're sending another quart, no charge.
I painted the seats and the boat name, and only have to clean the floorboard.

Do the solvent wipe like you would do a hull prep on the first coat of antifouling - multiple wipe downs, frequent rag replacement. Otherwise you risk simply smearing the protectant coating around. The properly prepped surface will have no slipperiness. A good practice would be to lightly abrade the final surface with sandpaper to give it "tooth".

I sanded with 80 grit but it must have been the silicon product that is on the boat.

I used the Inland Marine stencil kit and paint, pretty good for my hands.

PS I did a web search for the keel guard someone on this forum had about a year ago. It was stainless and attached to the RIB keel to protect it when beaching on the rocks. I found some plastic ones, but I thought I'd seen stainless. Anyone have a link?

Second update, it's been a few weeks and no leaks noted. On a side note, the roll up dingy from WM was also filled at the same time (goes with the Catalina I've got for sale). It doesn't leak either.
