Weather for Sat..

"Saturday Night: A chance of rain before midnight, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. North wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%."

I have a cool wife and daughter....:D

EDIT: 4:15 PM Friday

I seriously doubt my wife and daughter will be up for this when they get home...:cussing::cussing:

NE WINDS 10 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT...BECOMING N 25 TO 35 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 KT AFTER MIDNIGHT. SEAS 4 TO 7 FT...BUILDING TO 6 TO 9 FT AFTER MIDNIGHT. RAIN. SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT.

EDIT:
2:20 PM Saturday

Got up early and took myself for a nice little sail before the storm set in. Just me, some seals on the bay... Was a little ice on the deck this morning but nothing that didn't melt off when the sun hit it..Temps were in the low 30's but not too windy... Gotta love late fall. Stuck the boat back on the mooring and stripped the canvas off for the blow and snow..

We will see you out there. I think we are headed to diamond cove tomorrow after work. Wind is supposed to be great. Then maybe Jewel on Saturday.

How do you attach the plow to the bow roller? I'm covering the old boat and using Charlie Cobra's idea.

Winter in SoCal.......Just have to add a coat and check the winds......I feel sorry for those who have to be beached.. I will have some snow on the ground and some rain to deal with where we live but it's only for a few days.
Computer Sailing is cool!:D

Hmmm, forecast is now calling for possibility of major nor'easter. Gale warning and 3-6" of wet snow. Remnants of Rina.

Rockport is snug in a Nor'easter. We may just have friends onboard for cocktails and enjoy the storm. Fireplace 2.jpg

Perhaps the Harraseekett might be a better option. Thinking Goslings...

Re: Going Sailing This Weekend...

Yup. Definitely not Jewel. The forecast I had read at the time I made that post was calling for maximum of 15 from the N. Now that this nor'easter is looking to hit us square, we will likely stay in. We need to move over to the W side this weekend anyhow and we have a commitment Sunday afternoon.

Probably not a bad idea. If Cara is in, I am too. I wait to see what she decides about the forecast.....:cussing:

That forecast went to hell in a handbasket quick, didn't it? You know when your power company starts fueling up trucks, lining up extra crew, and talking with MEMA, it's time to hunker down.

Yep, it's time to call it. Sparrow is in the driveway waiting for a warm blanket and a long nap. I'll pull the jib tomorrow, carry the motor into the basement. Then I'll hang my head and cry into my coffee. After that, I'll get out my skis, sharpen and wax the bottoms, lube the bindings and sip my coffee. I'm so torn this time of year.

Re: Was.........Going Sailing This Weekend...

So Maine, what do you recommend to shovel 12" of snow from a foredeck? .... or maybe 12" of snow sticking to the SIDE of a boat due to BLIZZARD conditions?

Screw sailing, I plan on going skiing for Halloween. :)
