I'm not sure about the 302, but if the layout and setup is anything like a 322, the sump pump is located in the vanity cabinet in the head, under a screw-out panel. On my boat, it's a pain to get to, mostly involving a lot of inhuman body contortions in a small space, but a relatively easy fix beyond that. In the cabinet you'll find the diaphragm pump, the inline water filter and most of the hoses (except for the short length that runs to the drain hole in the floor of the head).

My 302 is set-up the same as the 322, except our head is starboard and I think the 322 is port.

Whenever repair is needed in there, my daughter is gracious enough to "volunteer". You'll need a couple small flashlights, and I found a mechanics mirror to be useful.

Repairs are easier on cool days ...

302 shower sump pump location

On my 1987 302, the pump motor is located under the starboard settee close to the icebox/chart table.

Hey guys, I have an 87 302 that has had the sump removed so now the shower drains to the bilge. I'd love it if you could answer a couple questions.

1. In the cabinet below the sink, I notice the drain is routed out the hull(above waterline), but with no thru-hull. Is this where your sum pump drains as well?

2. How in the world do you access the drain hole for the head floor soas to attach a tube to it!?

3. Can you full explain your sump system layout to me, such as locations of pump, tubes whatever else may be involved?
