After about a month of waiting for a decision on my broken mast the insurance company has agreed to pay for a new one and installation. The interesting thing is that I am going to end up with just about all new rigging. Apparently over the years the positioning of the rigging on the mast has changed consequently the lengths have changed. The new mast is coming from the company that made the original. When I posted this originally someone had said the new mast does not need to be tapered like the old mast. That was correct. Only problem with the entire scenario is I am going to get it back just in time to cover it for the winter. I am not complaining I am just glad the boat did not get totaled.
