Hey Tim,

There's a 27 footer in Saco that seems like a good deal to me. Check Craigslist. They want 11,500 for it and I think that includes a trailer. If I had a mooring, I'd probably call myself.

Tim, what ARE you looking for? My dad has an 84 or 86 Pearson 34 up on MDI that he's going to be selling eventually. It's freaking palatial compared to our Capri 22 or the Bristol 24 he had when I was a kid, and which it replaced.

Pretty sure he bought it down in your area 8 or 10 years ago - Yarmouth or Falmouth Foreside IIRC. It's got the shoal draft keel with centerboard, dodger, bimini & full cockpit enclosure (useful when you don't head south from MDI until mid-October or later) and I don't know what else. I've only been on it once, for about 5 minutes, when they happened to be off Cape Cod at the same time my wife had a conference to attend in Boston. They made several annual runs down to the Keys and back until my step-mom's back problems forced them to change to a land yacht.

Don't know what he's going to ask for it but I do know he's pretty meticulous about maintenance (though maybe not quite to Maine Sail's eat-off-the-engine-room-floor standard) and it's in good shape. I'd be happy to find out what his plans are and give him your contact info it's something you'd be interested in.

Nice job! She sounds like a good candidate for a Blue Seas Marine Rated Battery Fuse (MRBF)...

MS, That was a good tip. I had to hunt a little on Defenders site to find them, but got them and they are now installed. I sleep a little better now. Admiral even liked the idea.

Strangely enough, when I got my first boat it had the very same fault. I ended up reconnecting most of the wires (the panel was fine) because there was more strange stuff going on. Yes, the outboard was undamaged.

I wondered why the boat had a brand new battery. There were also a few lights were the PO swore it was "just the bulb." Magically, they started working!

My next boat was owned by an electrical engineer, and he took wiring seriously in all details.
