I worked on a boat for a friend today where she hooked up the POS from the outboard to the positive side of one of the battery banks and connected the NEG to the output feed of the battery switch. She could not figure out why her battery drained instead of charged when running the motor.
So when she selected that battery bank and ran the OB, the two sides of the charging circuit from the OB were connected together. The battery was below 2v when I got there. Amazingly, the engine still charged after I straightened out the wiring and properly secured it(she had a bare terminal laying out in the lazerette). Says something about Honda OBs.
