Oday 26 bow gasket near bow-tow-ring

Hope you understand, my Oday 26 has a black gasket 'hole' slightly above the
bow-ring where the trailer-winch-hook grabs it. Any idea what and why? I see the
nav light on the bow-pulpit. please advise to this new owner of a Oday 26

I don't ever remember seeing an O'Day 26 with an anchor locker, but maybe your 26 has one and what you are seeing is a drain for it. Perhaps the previous owner installed it. This is something that you're going to have to investigate from inside the cabin V berth section. Good luck with the O'Day 26, they're a nice little boat.

I think that you will find all O'Day 26 have anchor locker with drain. The drain is clearly visible in locker and hose to hole can be seen by removing plywood from front of V-berth - about 8 screws.

Both ends should be sealed ( I do not use the word caulk ) because ordinary callking is best based on my past experinece. I now use NP-1, a roofing one part polyureathane sealant which works well )

I know this is late BUT look at this picture of my Oday 26 1985 and you can clearly see the anchor locker drain. I hope this realy helps.
