ok, that is a good thought, I'll keep it in mind, sounds a lot easier than getting to the mixing elbow and to at least check the flow there for restrictions upstream from the elbow.
More than anything I want to determine if it's the raw or fresh water that is the problem and haven't identified that yet... irritating.
By the way, it's an after market fresh water cooler not a yanmar. It's made by Sen Dure http://www.sen-dure.com/ . There is only 1 thermostat on the whole system and after examining the setup I was pleasantly suprised to see that salt water doesn't go into the enigine anywhere... guess I wasn't really clear how it worked before and when this is all over I will have learned a lot about the new engine.
