I am in the process of changing my sea strainer from the little plastic OEM one to a Perko Bronze much larger unit. The original one was threaded directly to the thru hull. This one has to be mounted vertically. I need to add about 10" of new hose. I was looking at Marine rated Buna-N Rubber coolant and Fuel hose through McMaster Carr.

Is there any drawbacks to this type of hose for salt water?
