Hi All,
Happy MLK day.
I have an old Johnson 2 HP I got from some kid who was selling his old timer neighbor's stuff.
It is like new, guy bought it in 1976, was underpowered, didn't want to tell the missus he fd up, got another and she was none the wiser, then just left it in the storage unit.
Anyway, enough with the happy stories.
If you have one of these or had.
What oil do you recommend for it ?
Best I can find is
Quicksilver 858021Q01 Premium Two-Cycle TC-W3 Oil - Outboards, PWC, Snowmobiles, Motorcycles and Chainsaws
I assume anything none synthetic ?
Then someone mentioned getting a Fuel Stabilizer.
Sta-Bil 360 or should I skip this if I plan to run the engine every month on schedule to make sure it is seaworthy.
Ran great today.
Then just add regular gas with CA prices....
Ratio.
I assume 50:1.
I can't tell what size this tank is, but I'll figure that out later.
And last but not least.
What do you do for spare gas ?
Do you get a ye old Gerry or Jerry can and mount it on the rails I assume the metal one will rust quickly,
The generic Fuel tanks we have at the club look like they would leak in the lazarettes when my boat heels
Maybe the Rollpax 1.5 and mount it next to the engine ?
Thanks for the sanity check and help.
