I’m looking for any helpful information on the transmission shifter cable for our 1985 Pearson 36.2, with regard to length, type or suggested manufacturer. Thank you
Assume you figured it out….. however it is a Morse cable. Remove it and you will find numbers stamped on it…… otherwise you can measure and replace based on that.
Easy job, however mark exact position of shifter / cable where it attaches to trans. Take many photos!!

Most cables are marked with a number which denotes length and terminal types, most marked in feet but Morse sometimes in inches. Page three of the attached has some examples. http://www.westernmarine.com/acrobat/tfmcontrolcables.pdf
