There are naturist beaches on the French side of Saint Martin. You might find that a great place to land after three or more weeks at sea. I mean, after three or more weeks of staring at nothing but, well, your crew... and my mermaid :wink3:

That can always be a welcome landing. But it won't be as ... needed .... as one may think given I have your mermaid and current crew. I have to get a full crew shot, only have this one with Anja and myself, Patrick is taking the photo.

We are back to running wing-on-wing looking at a more westerly rumb line. So back to the wing-on-wing waddle...

Lovely weather, sunny and about 80 degrees F. Winds are a bit fluky but only in speed, not direction (thank goodness).

Current position
15 596.272 N
027 29.631 W

I have an older Jensen boat stereo that came with the boat. In Portugal I bought a very inexpensive blue tooth adaptor to go into the AUX port. At first I thought it didn't work as I would plug it into a power pack for it's required power. However, I discovered that it simply does not draw enough power such that the power pack would just shut down thinking there was nothing attached to it. I purchased a USB extension cord so that it can reach a USB plug I have in my kitchen, just over the wall from my chart table. That works a charm.

Before we left the Canaries, we downloaded a ton of music. Anja has her play lists, Patrick has his play lists (OK, I just have my CD collection on board...) The music is lovely. I've speakers in the main saloon, forward cabin and aft cockpit. Not quite "surround sound" but pretty close.... LOL

CAL 35 Cruiser #21 moored EVERETT WA
I think he has made good way. Been averaging a little above 5 knots. From his position it is a little over 1900nm to the Antilles. He is in the Tradewinds. The breezes flow East to West from Cape Verde to the Caribbean.

I wonder if the Captain has stashed a way a Christmas surprise dinner for he and the Crew... Difficult to stow away a Turkey or RibEye Roast beef on a boat. There is always SPAM for a real cruising treat.

Now, that's a sh#t eating grin on Dave's face if there ever was one!
One is always happy when finding "good crew". For trips this long you really need good crew....

I have three fundamental passage rules:

1) Everyone arrives healthy and undamaged.
2) The boat arrives safely.
3) Everyone arrives with a smile saying that was an awesome trip!

Just a note for all those suggesting spam.... There is absolutely none on my boat nor have i ever had any on board. I used to have spam on boy scout camp outs when I was a scout and that cured me from future reliance on ... What ever it really is....

Are you denigrating the National Food of Hawaii? Over there, you can get dozens of different flavors of Spam at every corner convenance store.

Google: "What is spam made from"
According to allreceipes.com
"Spam contains six ingredients: a mixture of pork and ham meat, salt, water, potato starch, sugar, and sodium nitrite, a food preservative added to bacon, hot dogs, cured meats, sausage, and smoked fish. Aside from adding potato starch in the 1990s, Spam's recipe is relatively unchanged."

I happen to like spam. It also seems like a great cruiser's provision.

I understand it has reached new levels of cultural desirability....

Perhaps I'm more likely denigrating the cooking abilities of 14 year old boy scouts using a campfire as the source of stove....
