You need a tide book aboard giving time corrections for different locations to adjust your clock as you travel. Don’t leave home w/o one!

Which is why I asked in the first place. You point out a very basic fact which the guys who say "My tide clock is right on!" seem to have ignored. Unless they do adjustments which they haven't shared with us. You were the only one who did in your #36, thanks. That's what I was expecting and was surprised by what I can only now deem tidal incompetence , from others, when it comes to the reliability of their tide clocks.

Case in point. LA tide book for today puts high tide @ 11:57 am; following low is @ 5:37 pm. So that's 5 h 40 m whereas celestial timeline "predicts" 6 h 25 m to following low. Tide clock reads 1 h 50 m past high tide, whereas it's actually now 3 h 50 m past. Day clock is not running slow (or fast); agrees with my digital Suunto wrist watch. I adjusted the tide clock last week in Newport Beach where the time difference compared to LA is 4 min earlier for High and 7 min earlier for Low.

So, tide clock predicts LA low tide 4 hr from now when it's really less than 3 h away, etc.

Did you miss adding and emoji or a /s? Because otherwise, that's one of the most inapplicable parallels I've seen on ANY forum, boating or otherwise.

Just like your Rolex predicts high noon everyday depending upon what state you live in.
