Galley foot pump leaking

A plumbing question. Our freshwater galley foot pump (Whale Gusher Galley III) has over the past year developed the habit of allowing water to pulse out the faucet when we use the electric pump for either head or galley sinks.

I rebuilt the pump using the WG seal kit and found at least one of the flapper valves was deformed—had to be the issue (I thought). Back together, the faucet still leaks when the elec pump is running.

I guess I could have reversed the valves when reassembling, but I think they only fit one way.

We like using the foot pump but have turned off that line to stop wasting water.

The first question that comes to mind is "how is your Whale Gusher installed ?"
"A" on the left side or "B" on the right side with additional information required ? How these two pumps are installed may lead to future problems.

Ignore the label identifying the electric pump as inline. How else could a water pump be installed ?

Curious as to how the suction of the Gusher is installed. If installed close to the galley pressure pump. and a distance from the tank, A bad or fouled suction valve on the pressure pump may be the problem.

interesting question. The pressure pump is installed under quarter berth, starboard. The gusher of course is beneath the galley sink, port. The system uses a simple T junction (no manifold) under the sole. I replaced the Surflow pump with new unit about a year ago. Curious thing is the dribble from the gusher faucet began sometime after the new electric pump installation.

But this the exact opposite of what the installation manual outlines ? Do I understand you to say the gusher is located as shown below and is fed water by the electric pump :

For what ? The supply ? The suction ? Do you have separate, individual suction lines for the Gusher and the electric pump ?

I've spent a lifetime dealing with petroleum refineries and other large piping systems but I'm sorry, your description has got me totally stumped as to how this thing is laid out.

Thx for your feedback and you’re correct, the pressure lines are on the left. But the diagram seems to integrate the gusher for one faucet. I have a separate faucet for the foot pump. My pic below shows the pressure supply lines hot/cold, left. The third line on the right leads to the gusher, fed via connection to the pressure below the sole.

Pretty basic, really. And like I said, before *something* happened, it all functioned well. My job is to hunt that down.
