Hi all,
The PO of my '97 Cat30 MKIII somehow managed to overcomplicate the rigging connections at the base of the mast. The mainsheet and boom vang blocks at the mast are both connected to a small ring about 10" up from the base of the mast and interfere with each other. The ring is screwed into the mast track. After sitting there for awhile and staring at it, I decided that all I need to untangle this mess is to add a mounting ring near the base of the mast and separate the blocks. I would rather not have to drill into the mast at any point so, I was hoping to find a fitting that would fit inside the mast track and be able to lock in. Search as I may, no one seems to make this type of fitting. So, unless one of you guys know of anything as I described, I will have to drill and tap a fitting onto the mast. Any ideas?
Happy Fourth of July and Happy Sailing.
