My Waste Deck Plate cover was lost. I need a replacement. Now that I can’t go and order the part directly, I must go through Murray Yachts. Does anyone know of an interrim solution. Hopefully I get a new one.. but not sure when. This is what I need (minus the chain).
Lots of options on Amazon…

Has Murray Yachts been of any assistance? If not, perhaps a call to Ward Richardson at Beneteau spare parts might help.

Don't see why you can't order directly from anyone, any reason ? I take it you bought your boat through Murray Yachts ? You don't want to order from them as you'll pay double compared to anywhere else. Many of your boat parts are available at chandelries and particularly this SBO website. Such items as deck plates, ports, hatches and many of the rest of the parts that make up a boat, are not made by Beneteau. They are assembled by Beneteau.

Follow @Tally Ho 's sound advice and look at his links for a possible permanent solution to your lost plate for a fraction of the cost from your other sources. It would also help if you could measure the diameter and thread pitch of your deck receptacle as I don't think all plates are created equal.

First.. I did not buy from Murray Yachts.. but they are now the LOCAL distributor for Beneteau Parts. You can NO LONGER buy off the parts website.. Beneteau had too many local sale tax issues. Secondly, there is no part number for this and I went to West Marine and we searched the web together. It is not a standard fitting part…

You are suggesting Green fittings?
There was a SS option on the first link. Or you can check for yourself,

if you want cheap while you wait for your “original” one, plastic (your choice of colors) could get you by until then.

Cheers,

Greg

Here is what I did.

Went to the marina
Grabbed a tape measure.
Measured the diameter of the hole I needed to plug.
Walked into West Marine and asked where the waste water caps were.
Measured the caps on the self and selected the shinny chromone one I needed.
Paid for it.
Back to the marina and installed it.

Total time 1 hour.

Yes… I did the same thing.. I took my diesel cap to Ft Meyers West Marine and they measured it and they said, no, they have nothing to fit that. He spent 1 hour on the internet searching… .. took 2 hours, came home with nothing…. that fits my Beneteau 2007 343.. maybe you got another boat?

Oh.. yeah, I see you got a Hunter 280… My guess is that is not a Beneteau? And maybe your cap size is different??

People are just trying to help….

but hey, you can go find one on your own. Or get a big cork and jam it in there.

Greg
People sound very arrogant.. “I just went to West Marine and measured”… very frustrating. I did the same.. just because I am a woman, these men assume I didn’t use a caliber and measure and research.. I was hoping Beneteau owners had ideas.. I did order a plastic interim solution. As you suggested.. but I felt the answer of the Hunter guy was rude - and he didn’t even own a Beneteau

And you asked for help. Trust me as 20 years in the navy I am sure I had women working for me that could out wrench us both.

Do you want a solution? Or is the only solution the perfect solution? It sure to me only the answer you want is the correct answer.

I see you responded to my post three times. Must be a pain not being able to complete a thought in one sitting,

Sorry this hunter owner is not high brow enough for you to offer a helping hand.

You might run by West Marine and strike up a conversation with the manager. The one at mine is a sailboat owner and has actually helped me find items that they do not carry. I am sure that is below you too.

I don’t think there’s any requirement that you go through your local Beneteau dealer. There was a post a couple weeks ago with a statement from a dealer in Michigan that seemed willing to help find parts. They’re certainly not local to you but I expect they could ship something that size. I have no affiliation or experience with this dealer but I don’t think it would hurt to call -

With regard to the other responses you’ve gotten - I think it’s the nature of a forum for people to give answers even if they’re not the perfect solution. Everyone is trying to help by sharing their experiences. Sometimes those experiences are a perfect fit, sometimes they’re a non-starter, and sometimes they inspire some new creative solution. And no one knows the level of expertise of the poster on the other end of the keyboard, so sometimes the suggestions are pretty basic. I don’t think that means they’re meant as a slight - it’s just a starting point. If it doesn’t help, well, try not to fault them for making an effort.

Believe me, there is a Beneteau part number for the cap. I have purchased lots of items from Beneteau over the past ten years; everything that they supply has a part number. You need to get the number to communicate with any dealer for pricing etc. Get the part number from Ward Richardson at Beneteau. Then you can price the item at Murray Yachts, Annapolis Yacht Sales, or the place that DavidSailor suggested. It is likely a metric thread from a European manufacturer.
If all else fails, you are going to have to purchase a complete assembly including the deck fill plate that attaches to the deck and underlying hose as well as the cap. Meanwhile, while you figure it out, put a wooden plug in it or duck tape it to prevent contamination of your water supply.

Well, i didn't know /or care that you are female. Had nothing to do with my comments/suggestions. I doubt @Crusty Ol Salt meant anything other than a helpful suggestion either.

I don’t own a Bennie…but a B373 is on my short list of retirement boats. Oddly, I did own a Hunter 280 before I bought my current Oday 322. The day I took delivery of my H280, either my son or the deck hand dropped the gas cap in the drink. We tried every #&()+ cap in the ships store…nothing fit.

I was ready to shove a big cork in the hole and start my journey home…but the broker at the yard had another Hunter for sale…so he stole the fuel cap off that boat and promised he would buy a new one to replace it. Seemed like a good solution to me so I could start my delivery home.

As a last resort, you could replace the fuel fill nozzle and cap with a more “standard” fitting…

A lot of work to fit and bed them, but it seems like the proprietary parts are a pain to source.

Good luck,

Greg
