Just got mine a couple of hours ago.. I have this sudden compulsion to eat Mandarin Chicken !!
Nah it tastes like Frog Legs!I have this sudden compulsion to eat Mandarin Chicken !!
Really - a single event from 40+ years ago is going to influence a decision now? If you got sick back then it probably means your immune system was working overtime and you felt like c^%p because of that. I'd at least get the anti-body test to see if you have it. Your call of course and I respect that decision but to quote 007, "never say never again." If enough people decide to not get the vaccine and don't have the anti-bodies present in sufficient numbers we'll never (see I said it) get to "herd immunity." You didn't die with the flue and at your age back then it was highly unlikey you would have. However, unless you are a young buck things are different now than when you were 17 years old and the consequences of developing serious complications or death are a lot different with COVID.Not me, never!
Why?
I think we had it,...
I have never had any type of Influenza in my life, with the exception of my High School Football coach made the entire team take a Flu shot. I was sick for 4 days, after that shot, and arm was swollen in shot area.
Jim and Sue...
How’s this for context - NY placed 6000 Covid patients in ALFs. It’s a friggin miracle there weren’t more deaths. It is also important to put the findings in context.
Yep, and the ICUs in NYC were full. Hospital beds were scarce, and if you had an accident or a heart attack, or some other acute illness you were screwed because even if it was a survivable event, the strain on the health care system was so great, care for non-covid patients suffered. How’s this for context - NY placed 6000 Covid patients in ALFs. I seem to recall there was a hospital ship specifically for covid patients that sat empty because Cumo didn't like that mean guy who sent it. Trust government...nope.Yep, and the ICUs in NYC were full. I did not say they were a trusted resource. I said they were from accepted liberal news sources that have wide acceptance by the present cultural leadership. In todays environ it is difficult to identify a news source that you can say is not sensationalistic or dubious in their headlines or reporting. That being said the statement that "ZERO" deaths is also suspect.a sensationalization and dubious at best at least in their "headlines"
If Sue, the Admiral, got it, then I got it. [ which includes our HERD group]I respect that decision but to quote 007, "never say never again." Nothing unique. Hospital beds were occupied fully in most big cities and many entire states. Some still are.Yep, and the ICUs in NYC were full. .
I don't disagree at all. Its just that we don't want to infect people to get the immunity from having had COVID since the consequences of not being able to battle it could be fatal. Sweden initially went the route of "let it go" and did not invoke strict controls. Not sure if they are on the same strategy now though. Thus Herd immunity will be achieved faster, with those of us that have it natural immunity , or those injected with the Antibodies now.
Jim and Sue..
They are not.Not sure if they [Sweden] are on the same strategy now though.
JUST A HEADS UP. When I clicked on this link, Bitdefender blocked my access and let me know the site was a threat (can't remember the specifics).I don't disagree at all....
I is interesting to use the following data link:
IHME | COVID-19 Projections

This is only partially correct. The Comfort was sent to NYC (and the Mercy to LA?) to assist with the shortage of hospital beds in the City. However, the Comfort was not allowed to accept Covid patients, it could only accept other patients.I seem to recall there was a hospital ship specifically for covid patients that sat empty because Cumo didn't like that mean guy who sent it. Not sure what Bitdefender is but do what you think best in terms of "safe sites" It is the data site for out in Washington as below:JUST A HEADS UP. When I clicked on this link, Bitdefender blocked my access and let me know the site was a threat (can't remember the specifics).
@Phil Herring, in case it matters
Not in the March to May 2020 time frame. NY and the northeast were far ahead of other states and regions.Nothing unique. Hospital beds were occupied fully in most big cities and many entire states. Some still are.
